Sometimes even when you're drawing out in nature
it is still a good idea to have a photo for reference.

Here is a list of wildflowers and plants we identified.
You can use this list anywhere in the

Just like in Nature, things are hidden everywhere if you stop and look closely.

Flume-Excursion_00.16.09.jpg

Getting Started...

Flume-Excursion-01_05.16.09.jpg

Guest Speakers Michael Salisbury & Bob Burns give us a brief history on the Flume Trail "Then and Now".

The beginning...

Flume-Excursion-05_05.16.09.jpg

We hike where trestles once ran the flume across small valleys.

Rock Walls

Flume-Excursion-03_05.16.09.jpg

We see signs where they built up the trail for the flume and the hiking path.

What's That?

Flume-Excursion-04_05.16.09.jpg

Someone found a nail used in the original construction.

Should I Keep It?

Flume-Excursion-06_05.16.09.jpg

WHOA!
That means this nail is over 120 years old.

NEVER TAKE ARTIFACTS!

Flume-Excursion-02_05.16.09.jpg

Michael reminds us that we should only observe and never take anything of historical meaning.
Let the next person see it too.

The Tunnel

We hiked the tunnel and measured its length.
116' Long!
